a collectively run studio and shop operating in oak cliff with a passion for expanding art experiences to their community through art markets and art classes.
books: deep vellum
deep vellum has plenty of its own books, but also lots of others! from work in translation, books from small presses, books that bend genre, zines, poetry, self-help, business, textbooks, reference, notebooks. we have a curated selection of titles for all ages and tons of institutional knowledge.
candles: olphactory candles
olphactory candles is a luxury candle company specializing in the art of scent, paired with the art of jazz.
coffee: xamán café
xamán café, located in oak cliff, evokes a unique cultural experience through historic recipes.
vintage: nylo wool
vintage shop based in deep ellum, offering the best selection of mens, womens, and kids american vintage clothing and accessories from early 1900's to 1990's.
+ children's activities: rami ackerman
artist and teacher rami ackerman will lead our young visitors in an art + crafts activity, helping them create their very own 3-dimensional animals from paper. he has also planned a ‘brain-break’ station for anyone wanting to free-draw and expand their artistic horizons.

yoga + sound bath: sanctum med + wellness
dallas contemporary + sanctum med + wellness have partnered to present an inspiring one-hour yoga nidra (yogic sleep) and sound bath surrounded by art to heighten the senses. you will experience healing and relaxing sounds as they wash over you from all corners of the room. the vibrations of the sounds mix with your own inner energies to balance the mind and body and release any inner stress or overwhelm. the session will be led by PRIYA patel, sanctum med + wellness chief wellness officer. this will reduce stress, increase focus, and revitalize the senses with a sense of gratitude toward the arts.

desktop garden workshop: gardenuity
the splendor of green is brought to life in your own personal indoor gardening experience with the desktop garden collection. each desktop garden comes with a fully rooted succulent or tropical plant, the gardenuity exclusive white ceramic planter, customized soil and nutrients, and a mister or paintbrush for mindful moments.

don’t miss the guided tour of renata morales’ exhibition inane and mundane evolutionary tales of fear love and horror with executive director, carolina alvarez-mathies.

natalie wadlington: artist talk + exhibition catalog release / signing
join us for an artist talk between artist natalie wadlington and curator emily edwards. wadlington and edwards will engage in conversation around the artist’s practice and the making of exhibition places that grow, wadlington’s institutional debut. an exhibition catalog release and book signing will follow.
natalie wadlington, a california native who now calls college station in east texas homewadlington’s presentation features a new series of figurative paintings created in the artist’s signature style, who come together in symbolic scenes that mirror humanity’s complex struggles in understanding and caring for mother earth. inspired by the expansive and ever-changing sky in her new home state of texas, the paintings appoint the celestial sphere as the covert protagonist and are set in all times of day, from dusk to dawn.

all vinyl dj sets by iamyu + cb smoove
dallas-based creatives iamyu + cb smoove who are part of the collective house of frequencies will keep the party going with a selection of records ranging from funk, dance, and house. playful visuals by multimedia artist ghostdrank will be projected throughout the space. ghostdrank references subculture in his work supported by personal symbology that encourages viewers to decode meaning.
tattoo pop-up feat. kristin wright
tattoos will be given throughout the night by kristin wright of pegasus tattoo studios, a feminist tattoo collective in oak cliff, texas that is inclusive, body-positive, and LGBTQIA friendly. a variety of tattoo flashes will be available to choose from, including artwork by @cactuskillerr @ginodalcin + @_ghostdrank.
